Quarter Finals round of Shaheed-e-Milat T20 Cricket Tournament begins

Srinagar, Dec 07: The Quarter Finals round among the 8 qualified teams in Shaheed-e-Milat T20 Cricket Tournament begins here on Thursday at Islamia College Srinagar where two match between FCC Hawal v/s MRCC (A) and Baghat Gymkhana v/s Royal Sports Cricket Club were played amid huge rush of Cricket fans. 

In first match of the day, FCC Hawal while bating first set a target of 116 to their opponent team. Chasing the target the MRCC (A) lost just 1 wicket to win the match, thus making their way for the Semi-Finals. Sajad Ahmad of MRCC (A) hit a half century and also took 2 wickets to settle himself for Man of the Match award. The awards at presentation ceremony were distributed by senior Professors of Islamia College Dr Yasin Malik and Dr Mohammad Amin.

The second match of the quarter finals was played between Baghat Gymkhana v/s Royal Sports Cricket Club. Batting first, with the contribution of Umar Malik’s fastest half century in just 19 balls, the Baghat Gymkhana set a target of 178 runs to their opposite team which Royal Sports Cricket Club failed to achieve. Umar Malik for his outstanding batting and 2 wickets in credit bagged the Man of the Match award. The award was presented by Shaheed-e-Milat T20 Cricket Tournament organizing committee Chief Coordinator S. Manzoor Ahmad. 

Pertinent to mention here, follow the conclusion of today’s two matches, MRCC (A) and Baghat Gymkhana were declared qualified for the Semi-finals. The last two matches of the quarter finals between Team Oddo Spartans v/s Team Hooked and Star Cricket club v/s Parmipora XI will be played on Friday.
